Abuse prevention starts with education

Equipping families, educators, and counselors with the tools they need to teach kids to speak up and create a safe space for every child.

Breaking the Silence

The Truth Over Secrets mission centers on a simple truth: while healthy disclosure promotes healing, harmful secrets cause lasting damage. Author Wendy Spruill wrote Secrets to give children not just the knowledge to recognize unsafe situations, but the courage to speak up despite fears of family shame or blame. This gentle story teaches young readers that speaking their truth is never something to feel guilty about—it's an act of courage that leads to healing.

Hi, I’m Wendy!

Author, advocate, and survivor.

Through the power of storytelling, community outreach, and faith-led education, I am dedicated to helping children and caregivers understand the critical difference between safe and unsafe secrets. My work focuses on equipping families, educators, and counselors with tools that teach children to speak up while creating safe spaces where every child feels heard and protected. As a facilitator of child sexual abuse prevention trainings, I provide essential education that transforms how communities approach child safety, fostering environments where truth is valued over silence and healing can begin.
